UHS UK’s four most commonly used systems and floor build ups
Clipped Direct to Insulation
The UFH pipe is clipped directly to insulation boards such as Celotex or Kingspan that is laid on top of the concrete sub floor. Screed is then poured over the pipework and the floor covering can be fitted when the screed has completely dried.
Ideally suited to new builds, extensions and conservatories this is often considered the simplest and most cost-effective method of installing underfloor heating.
Clip Rail System
The clip rail system is generally used on floors where it isn’t possible to clip to insulation usually because of floor height restrictions. The rails are one metre in length and self-adhesive so that they can be applied directly to the floor. The pipes are
clipped into the rails and the screed poured over.
Heat Emission Plates
Spreader plates provide an easy installation system for tradition joists. Aluminium spreader plates are fixed to the joists with insulation placed between the batons. The pipe work is then clipped directly into the plates.
EPS Overlay Boards
Low profile overlay boards eliminate the need to excavate floors which can result in underfloor heating being more readily available in existing properties.
Simple to install, minimally invasive with fast response times EPS Overlay is environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
UHS UK’s four most popular electric offerings
Suitable for use in all rooms, especially bathrooms and flexible for installation in awkward shaped areas. The Cable Kit partners well with tiled floors, however it can also be used with most floor finishes.
Applicable for use in all areas, particularly suits kitchens and conservatories. Easier for installation in standard shaped (square/rectangular) rooms. Ideally matched to tiled floors but works effectively with most floor coverings.
Easy to install heating under wood and laminate floors, the heating foil is durable, reliable and extremely thin - only 0.3 mm. Designed specifically for laminate and engineered wood floor finishes, the Foil Kit can be installed on top of existing floor structures, such as concrete, plasterboard or chipboard. Not suitable for use in bathrooms or wet rooms
Multiflex is a powerful heating cable with a 20 W/m output so it is highly suitable for embedding in concrete and as such can extend the period of use for your outdoor areas.
The heating cable is series resistant and has been developed to handle the toughest conditions for underfloor heating. Insulated with Teflon, Multiflex 20 has extremely high
temperature tolerance, giving a very long lifetime.
